who we are.

Founded January 3, 2000, c3 Communications, Inc. (c3) was created with one clear purpose: to make our people’s lives better. After serving as media relations director and national spokesperson for Children’s Hospital and Health Center San Diego (now Rady), Joice Truban Curry launched c3 with the belief that public relations should be personal, passionate, and impactful. That belief still guides us today. From the start, c3 set itself apart by giving clients direct access to the principal agency owners and offering smart, strategic guidance with the kind of care and integrity that builds trust and lasting relationships. We’re proud to have earned over 25 Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) awards, including three national Silver Anvils (the Oscars© of the PR industry), the highest honor in our field.

our story.

At c3, our mantra is simple: “Do our best work all the time and have fun doing it.” Whether supporting a nonprofit leader, a startup founder, a Fortune 500 executive, or anyone in between, we tailor our approach to meet your needs and help you shine. Our clients range from national tours, consumer brands and healthcare to education, nonprofits, and entertainment. Notable names include Circus Vargas, California Surf Museum, Guitars and Ukes in the Classroom, Hot Wheels®, Kids Chance of America, Massage Envy Spa®, Monopoly®, The Alzheimer’s Association of San Diego/Imperial County, and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf®.

c3 was chosen, by PR leaders nationwide, to be a member of PR Consultants Group (PRCG) - representing San Diego, CA. and Palm Springs/Inland Empire, CA. With PRCG, c3 has affiliate offices and media contacts nationwide. This means we bring the same reach and professional experience of c3’s boutique-services, and folds in strategic resources and contacts across the entire country – bringing our clients even more value.

What truly defines c3 is our commitment to purpose-driven PR. We regularly donate our time and expertise to causes we care about, including the Salvation Army and the Alzheimer’s Association. Our team believes PR is not just about generating coverage but really telling the right stories, supporting those who serve, and helping good people do great work. As we celebrate 25 years in business, our mission remains the same: to work hard, stay passionate, bring results and make life better for every client we serve. And most importantly having fun while we do it!
